Vas

Jamie Morrison painted this portrait for his friend Vas. Following is the inspiration behind this painting.

“I see Vas pretty much every day right outside where I live in Hackney Wick. He’s a real one of a kind, sweet character; full of witty stories about life, tonnes of wisdom about rock ‘n’ roll music and a powerful singer in the vein of Tom Jones.
Vas is homeless and has been the whole time I’ve known him. The idea behind painting this portrait, besides documenting someone of importance to me, is to try and sell it, for any reasonable offer and give the money to Vas.
I’m aware that selling this painting won’t fix Vas’s living situation but it’s getting cold out there and anything that could help to get him sleeping somewhere safe and warm for however long helps a lot in the short term.
It’s 26 x 35”, acrylic on canvas in a wooden frame. It can be shipped anywhere or collected in London. Lots of love to Vas !”
