Looking for Postnatal Yoga Classes in Hackney Wick/Bow/Stratford, East London? Omega Hub offers Postnatal Yoga Classes for Mothers.

Yoga in the postnatal period helps to build strength, (re)experience the body and allows some me-time. The 60 Minute classes consist of a gentle flow the same as longer-held restorative poses. The moves are generally low-intensity and modified to the needs of the body. Furthermore, it is a wonderful opportunity to bond with other moms in your vicinity.

As the first weeks are all about bonding with the baby, adjusting to the new situation, resting and recovering. You should only start eight weeks after you have given birth.

Pregnancy Yoga FAQ

How is prenatal yoga different from “regular” yoga?

Prenatal classes are specifically tailored to address common aches, pains and needs that can occur during pregnancy. Poses are explained and modified so that they are safe and comfortable for pregnant people.

Is prenatal yoga safe?

Yes! The teacher has been trained specifically to teach prenatal yoga and will always offer variations and modifications when needed for specific aches and pains.

When is it safe to start prenatal yoga?

We normally suggest starting during the second trimester as in the first weeks of pregnancy, energy levels can be very low, and hormones can be quite unpredictable. There is also a higher likelihood of miscarriage, so the general advice is usually to take it slow during this time. However, if you feel great in the first weeks of your pregnancy and you have been cleared by your doctor, please feel free to join the classes!
